1. How do I purchase Pinnacle?
Just contact your local Tru-Test representative. Visit (www.tru-test.com) for contact details.

2. Do I need to register my copy of Pinnacle? Yes, 30 days after installation Pinnacle will need to be registered, meaning that you can not run Pinnacle from then on unless you unlock it. The system can be unlocked by getting a license key from your local Tru-Test representative. We advise getting your Pinnacle License Key on initial installation to prevent the inconvenience of being locked out. Pinnacle will run fully featured until this 30 day time-out occurs. License keys will only be provided to systems that have been purchased.

3. Can I register a Trial version of Pinnacle? No. The trial version only runs for 30 days.

4. How does a user register Pinnacle?It’s easy. Just send the unique Pinnacle Unlock Key from the registration screen to your local Tru-Test representative. In return you will receive your license key information by email or telephone.

5. Can I install the same copy of Pinnacle on multiple PCs?Yes. Each copy will run for 30 days but then you’ll need a different license key to unlock each copy of Pinnacle. Contact your local Tru-Test representative to enquire about pricing for multiple copies of Pinnacle.

6. Do I need an XR3000 to run Pinnacle?No. Pinnacle can run without an XR3000 Weighing Indicator but it won’t offer any weighing or EID tag-related capabilities. You need an XR3000 Firmware Version 1.9a to use the full power of Pinnacle.

7. Do I need to use EID tags with Pinnacle?No. Pinnacle’s animal management features, such as auto-drafting by weight, can be used without EID.

8. Do I need a Bluetooth enabled XR3000 to use with Pinnacle?No. Just connect the XR3000 Weighing Indicator to your PC with serial cable (RS232) and then run Pinnacle.

9. How do I make Pinnacle talk to my Bluetooth enabled XR3000?The XR3000 needs to be paired with your PC. Follow the pairing instructions that come with the Bluetooth XR3000. After pairing, Pinnacle will find your XR3000 automatically.

10. Is Pinnacle only used for weight related animal management?No. Pinnacle can be used for other animal management functions such as auto-drafting (sorting) on criteria that are unrelated to weight. Pinnacle is flexible so that you can use it to manage your animals the way you want.

11. I have an XR3000 already that’s not Bluetooth compatible, can I use Pinnacle?Yes. Just connect the XR3000 to your PC with a serial cable (RS232). Alternatively, upgrade your XR3000 to bluetooth-enabled.

12. How do I get my 1 year of free upgrades?Tru-Test needs your contact details, including an email address. We recommend that you give these details to your local Tru-Test representative at the time of purchase. Tru-Test will then notify you directly when an upgrade is available on the Tru-Test website. You can either download the upgrade directly or request that a CD is sent to you.

13. Do I need to back up my database? Yes. We recommend that you back up your database onto a CD, DVD or USB pen drive regularly.

14. What happens if I need to re-install Pinnacle on a new PC because I’ve upgraded or broken my old PC? You can re-install Pinnacle on another machine. Contact your local Tru-Test representative to request a new license key so that you can unlock the newly installed Pinnacle. This situation is handled on a case-by-case basis.

15. If I’m running Pinnacle with an XR3000 is all my data duplicated on the XR3000?No. Pinnacle always stores your data on the PC, not on the XR3000 Weighing Indicator. However, you can upload data from Pinnacle onto your XR3000.

16. Can I use my XR3000 stand alone, not connected to Pinnacle? Yes. You can use the XR3000 Weighing Indicator without a Pinnacle connection but you’ll be limited to using only the XR3000 fields and entries for each record. At the end of the session, you can optionally download the files from the XR3000 to your PC so that the data can be put into Pinnacle’s database.

17. I’ve used a trial version of Pinnacle; can I purchase a full version and use the data I’ve created with the trial version?Yes. When you install the full version you’ll be able to use all the database entries you created with the trial version.
